  Please IGNORE any bad reviews! This museum is wonderful, and so is Ana, who runs it, and the many lovely volunteers. After reading some of the reviews, it is incomprehensible to me that parents would bring children and allow them to skip around, or simply to hang out and "wait." Wait for WHAT?! This isn't a babysitting service! It is a museum, with works of art on the walls and on tables and benches. They could VERY EASILY be damaged.
  
  There is also a gift shop area with many beautiful items made by local artists.... who have created these pieces with love and talent. The items in the gift shop are for SALE and need to be protected from damage by children or anyone else. Artists often make their living by creating these beautiful pictures, paintings, purses, notecards, etc.
  
  KCAM has wonderful events, such as opening nights where you can meet the artist, and enjoy a glass of wine and light snacks. There have been extraordinary musical events here, with musicians from China, from Cuba (where people spontaneously broke into the salsa), and a local high school choir at Christmas (extraordinary and different!). The art is always changing... photography, watercolor, collages, oil painting, sculpture, cement, fabric, lighted art, art made from fishnet, etc. Sometimes I love it and sometimes I think it's goofy, but I love that it is offered to the Katy community and we have the opportunity to see such variety!
  
  You can also have a healthy lunch here on Friday (see if it's still available before you come), and art classes periodically.
  
  I am humbled and appreciative of all the time and love and talent that has gone into the creation of KCAM, and what is done daily to sustain it. Thank you SO VERY MUCH, Ana (and your family, and each of the lovely volunteers).
