  Awesome friendly staff.... The butcher helped me pick the perfect brisket!! He even went to the back and got more for me to choose from before a final decision was made. I felt comfortable letting him make that decision for me because he was so friendly and full of knowledge.

  Im sure the people that own it and run it are great, and the old timers are comfortable with it because it's been around forever. But.. in all honesty, the produce is rotten, the meat is barely average, bakery products are funky or stale.. The place smells terrible. I'm really hoping they do a total reno on the place as it's a great location and Old Towne Katy would benefit from a local grocer. The area is going through quite a facelift with the new stadium coming in. I'm not sure why they are still trying to compete with the surrounding Heb's/Kroger's/walmarts etc. Their prices are MUCH higher with terrible product quality. They seem to be surviving on senior citizens social security checks. They would be well served to become a specialized grocery store that serves fantastic products with a community dedication, like a central market or a small whole foods. Also, add a bike rack and get rid of th massive cigarette bin out front next to a 1980's payphone. On a side note.. if you ever need a payphone..
